Yes, the Heller F-14 is a reissue of the Airfix kit. The retractable surfaces in front of the wings are called glove vanes, and automatically deployed at Mach 1.4 to provide additional lift to avoid the nose pitching downwards. The system was disabled on Tomcats after a few years, as there were problems with it. I'm not sure if any of the other early Tomcat kits have them.

The old Monogram 1/72 model had these glove vanes too, and they worked on this kit.
