Which do you think looks better?

Kit part on the bottom...

Tamiya's pioneer gear, and some fine mesh screen...

Kit parts are on top.
The new wheels are from Kenji's M24 (Bottom)...

Extra points if you can tell me the vehicle, and or kit...

Well, here I am securely stuck with one foot on the dark side... Still.

I'm still plugging away at little details, trying to bring this old geezer up to modern standards...

Just for you nostalgic types... (Stuart Milliken)wink.gif

Lots of cutting and sanding...

Glass for all the doors and windshields...

An 'almost' completed cab...

Here, the cab is attached to the chassis, and I'm working on the new brush guards.

All done with that.. Next will be the headlights, and other little additions.

I'm scared I may be having to much fun here on the dark side... I might have to build something with wings and a pointy nose soon, or be lost forever! Help me Obi-Wan!

Well, I got 'er done!

This is the very old (1950's?), though re-released (1973), but still old Aurora 1/48th scale M8E2 Munitions Carrier.
This particular kit was in the small white box, without the 8 inch Howitzer.
I first saw this kit many years ago as a kid, and had always wanted to build it, so here, 42 years later, I finally got the chance!
I did intended to build this with a few upgrades, and a little bit of work, so...

She's not marked for any particular unit, but I think she still looks like a beast...

The few markings on her are dry transfers. The model itself is painted with Model Masters Olive Drab, FS 34087, it was then given a wash of Tamiya Acrylics.
All the intakes and cooling grill work was replace with either brass or aluminum screen, and the pioneer gear is from Tamiya.

The tarp over the bed/cargo area is made from coffee filter, painted with Tamiya 'Field Grey'... (Looks OD to me happy.gif
I did the ends first, tacking them in place with a little CA, then I draped the top over the bows, added a little Elmers Glue, and gently coaxed it in to place. A little bit of thread for the tie downs... The actually tie down hooks on the bed sides are thin wire, bent to shape, and CA'd on.

The new wheels came from Kengi's M24 Chaffee tank. They worked really well after a little clean up. The tracks are from the kit... Seems they don't quite fit the drive sprocket though... sad.gif
The side view mirror came from Tamiya's Deuce and a half, and a new exhaust stack was made from stock tubing...
[linked image]

The towing pintle is from a Hobby Boss Sherman as the Aurora kit part looked like it was towing the Titanic!
[linked image]

A new tail gate was also built, using sheet stock...

The M2 .50 Cal is from the Tamiya M4 Sherman.

Just to give some size reference, Private Schmuckatelli is standing in...

I still have another kit and a half, so I may be doing another one of these later on...
Right now I need to build something that flies, and has a pointy nose... Not that I didn't enjoy building one of my Holy Grail kits... I just think I've spent enough time on the dark side wink.gif

Well, I hope you all like her!

Li algo errado e repeti aqui.

Independente disto, ambos conseguiram fazer ótimas limonadas
